Empathy in Action

Hassan and Wyatt record Cheryl's sister, Carmen, as she  gives a very poignant account of how she survived trauma and abuse while her now deceased sister gave a valiant fight but eventually succumbed to the impact of years of abuse and neglect. Carmen provides some insight as to how we can avoid such tragedies within future generations.

Stuart Westie tells the story, to Hassan and Wyatt, of how his friendship with Cheryl Folden began and what he learned about her, himself and the impact of tramua, drug addiction, and mental illness on not only those afflicted with such adversity but also imparted on all the others who care for and love such unfortunate souls.

MLA Lorne Doerkson, informs Hassan and Wyatt why homelessness--and care for those with mental illness, trauma and/or drug addiction--are issues that we all need to address while exercising understanding, empathy and compassion.

This is an interview of Councillor Sheila Boehm done by Harper and Jordyn. The councillor explains why the issues surrounding Cheryl Folden's early death are problematic for her and our community. She also alludes to some solutions.
